The brief
Academic jobs are spread across hundreds of university careers sites, each with its own layout and application system. Candidates waste hours checking them, and smaller institutions struggle to get their vacancies seen.
UniJobs brings university and higher education vacancies into one place, from PhD studentships and research posts to lecturer, professor and professional services roles. Then it goes a step further than a normal job board by helping candidates prepare for the interview, not just find the job.
The AI interview panel
Every live vacancy has a Practise the interview button. It runs a mock interview with an AI panel built around that exact job.
1. Pick a job. Any live vacancy on the site. 2. Talk to the panel. Three AI interviewers who have read the job advert, and the candidate's CV if they choose to share it, ask the kind of questions a real university panel would. Candidates answer out loud or by typing. 3. Get your feedback. A detailed report with scores, strengths, what to improve, and stronger example answers.
The first interview is free. After that, candidates buy credits through Stripe: one interview for £9.99, three for £19.99 or five for £29.99. Credits never expire.
It turns a job board into something candidates come back to, and it gives the platform a revenue stream from candidates as well as employers.
For candidates
- Search by category, such as PhD and doctoral, lecturer, professor and reader, finance and IT, and by distance from where they live.
- Free job alerts by email, created from any search and easy to edit or delete.
- Saved jobs to come back to later.
- Quick sign-up with an email address, Google, Facebook or X.
- Works like an app. Candidates can add UniJobs to their phone's home screen.
Searching and job alerts are always free.
For universities and institutions
- Verified employer accounts. Recruiters claim their institution, and each claim is checked before they can post.
- Institution profile pages that sit alongside their vacancies.
- A job dashboard for posting, editing and closing jobs.
- Vacancy importing from an institution's own jobs website.
- Three plans:
- Free, with up to five live jobs.
- Standard, at £400 a year, adding featured jobs and the ability to search and message candidates.
- Institution, at £2,500 a year, with unlimited jobs and priority support.
- Payment by card, or by purchase order and bank transfer, which is how universities actually buy things.
The result
At the time of writing, UniJobs lists 476 live vacancies from 141 institutions, with around 200 new jobs added every week.
